SUSIE OWENS, HHP

Well over a decade ago, with a life-long passion for self-health, nutrition and cooking Susie decided to throw caution to the wind, flee corporate America (the status quo) and set out on a very personal journey! Her first step was to become certified as a Trainer/Master Practitioner of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) with the world-renowned Tad James, in Las Vegas, Nevada. NLP blends hypnosis, gestalt therapy and family therapy to explore how the mind processes information. Next a serendipitous move to San Diego presented the opportunity to train at the Natural Healing Institute, in Encinitas, California where Susie focused on nutrition, aromatherapy and herbology to become certified as a Holistic Health Practitioner, which she considers to be one of her greatest achievements.

With these credentials Susie created a dynamic program blending these unique concepts and Your Life by Design; Mind, Body and Zen some… was conceived. In a broader perspective, the message of this program is that we cannot approach good health from only one point of view and expect to get the best results. Health is multifaceted and the mind/body is inextricably connected. We are what we think, we are what we eat, and we are without a doubt how we feel. “To focus on just one area of health to the exclusion of others is like taking a garden hose to a forest fire”, Ms. Owens says! There are just too many variables when it comes to personal health to have a narrow mindset, it is critical to have a broader perspective. As a serious advocate for the benefits of using food as medicine, Susie also offers, “What’s on Your Plate? which specifically focuses on how easy it is to make slight adjustment in eating habits that lead to major health benefits. In this program she explores the fundamentals of food, shopping and preparation. In conjunction with these programs, Susie also promotes the health benefits of dōTERRA essential oils.
