This is a moment in history. You're the only you who has ever been born, and the only you who will ever be” – Skye Baloo Carnegie

WHY IT’S EASY TO BE HARD ON YOURSELF

  • It’s easy to beat yourself up when society says you don’t fit in
  • It’s easy to give up on yourself and refuse to treat yourself with kindness, care, and worth when others don’t understand you.
  • When others show intolerance, anger, criticism, or disregard, it’s easy to internalize it and treat yourself the same way.
  • Dorothy Law Nolte wrote an excellent poem called, ‘Children Learn What They Live’. It’s worth checking out here.
  • When society is hard on you, the pattern often repeats in relationships throughout life. When you lack confidence, people sense it and continue to be rough on you.
  • It’s easy to get used to problems, and attracting difficult people into your life almost becomes comfortable

WHEN IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE IN YOU...

  • The only reason this website exists is because, you matter SO MUCH. You are so precious!
  • No more suffering.
  • You’re amazing, with brilliance flooding through your veins, and a rare sensitivity to life.
  • People with ADHD have an innate goodness and possess wonderful gifts and talents.
  • I believe in you, and our community is here to support you every step of the way.
  • The fast track to being ok, is you getting to know you; stepping into your uniqueness, and finding support in the areas of struggle.

THE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE PLEASING

  • When we’re babies, we have an inbuilt mechanism to do what we need to be held, fed, and taken care of.
  • It means we learn to people please from the start!
  • We look to our caretakers as small gods. We forget to listen to ourselves and our inner knowing.
  • We believe the things they say we are.
  • We become crushed people with crushed spirits.
  • This leads to depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and addictions.
  • When they tell us we need to believe in ourselves, we discover we no longer know who we are anymore.

WHAT BELIEVING IN YOU MEANS

Skye Baloo Carnegie, ADHD, Autism, HSP, ADHD Parent, ADHD Grandparent

You have gifts and talents and an emotional awareness that is beautiful. It’s important to focus on the positives and let them guide you through life.

Skye Baloo Carnegie, ADHD, Autism, HSP, ADHD Parent, ADHD Grandparent

Being overwhelmed is real. You’ll always be extra sensitive.

When you have clarity on your unique areas of sensitivity, you can make accommodations for them, and reduce or eliminate the struggle.

Skye Baloo Carnegie, ADHD, Autism, HSP, ADHD Parent, ADHD Grandparent

Believing in you means knowing there’s more; an awareness of the potential of life, and of being connected to something incredible.

BELIEVING IN YOURSELF RATHER THAN GIVING AWAY YOUR POWER

  • Many people put their beliefs in others. Even when they rebel, they rebel because they want to matter.
  • It takes all the courage in the world to be ourselves due to an innate belief that if we don’t people please, we’ll be abandoned.
  • The paradox is that when you have inner confidence, people respect you, and want to be around you more.
  • In order to be you, you have to get to know you. Follow your instincts, be still, grounded, and regulated in the ways you need to. Nature is great at helping with this, but we all have our different ways of nurturing our souls.
